Sweetgreen Nutrition Calculator

Build a Sweetgreen bowl and watch calories, protein, carbs, fat and sodium update as you pick. Free, no signup. Sweetgreen is the one fast-casual chain that publishes a gram weight for every build-your-own ingredient, so this is the rare calculator where the portion behind each number is a stated fact rather than an assumption.

Quick answer

Build a Sweetgreen bowl and watch the macros add up live. Numbers come from Sweetgreen’s own ordering system, read on 26 July 2026 — the only one of the three chains that publishes a gram weight for every single build-your-own ingredient, all 73 of them. Nothing here is converted or estimated.

Where these numbers come from

Sweetgreen’s live ordering system (per-ingredient values) plus the Sides table on sweetgreen.com/nutrition, marked “Updated July 2026”. Checked 2026-07-26. Open the source. This build covers 80 items .

  • Per-ingredient numbers come from Sweetgreen’s live ordering system, read on 26 July 2026. Sweetgreen has published no current PDF binder — the newest one on its CDN dates from May 2024.
  • Sides numbers come from a different place: the Sides table on sweetgreen.com/nutrition, marked “Updated July 2026”. They are cited separately rather than blended with the ingredient data.
  • Sweetgreen’s own per-ingredient calories do not always reconcile with its own macros. Organic Spring Mix is listed at 30 cal with 0 g of protein, carbs and fat; Chopped Romaine at 50 cal where the macros imply about 16. Adding ingredients up will therefore drift from Sweetgreen’s published totals for finished bowls. That is their rounding, not our arithmetic.
  • Sweetgreen publishes a gram weight for every build-your-own ingredient. Nothing on this page is converted, derived or estimated.
  • Pick limits shown here are the ones Sweetgreen’s ordering system actually enforces: one or two bases, up to ten toppings, up to seven premiums, up to three dressings but never a double portion of the same one, and one bread.
  • Values are per serving as prepared and vary by location — Sweetgreen says so itself.
  • Peaches and Summer Vegetable Medley belong to the Summer 2026 menu and will disappear.
  • Half and double portions are our arithmetic on the published figure. No chain publishes a coefficient for a light or extra scoop, so anything other than a standard portion is an estimate — flagged as one whenever your build uses it.

Every ingredient has a published weight

All 73 build-your-own ingredients in Sweetgreen's ordering system carry a gram weight, from 1 g of crushed red pepper to 140 g of chopped romaine. Nothing on this page is converted, derived or estimated — the weight you see is the weight Sweetgreen states.

That is unusual. CAVA publishes no serving size for anything at all, and Chipotle publishes ounces rather than grams. It matters because a weight is what lets you check a number instead of trusting it: 100 g of roasted chicken at 110 cal is a claim you can verify against USDA reference data, while “one scoop” is not.

Why the parts do not sum to Sweetgreen's totals

If you add these ingredients up and compare against Sweetgreen's published figure for a finished bowl, the two will not match exactly. That is worth explaining before you notice it and conclude one of us is wrong.

Sweetgreen rounds every ingredient independently, and some rounded values do not reconcile with their own macros. Organic Spring Mix is published at 30 calories with 0 g of protein, 0 g of carbs and 0 g of fat — macros that imply zero calories. Chopped Romaine is published at 50 calories where 1 g protein and 3 g carbs imply about 16. Pesto Vinaigrette is 110 calories where 9 g of fat alone accounts for roughly 81.

Summing a dozen independently rounded parts and comparing the result to a separately rounded whole produces drift in any dataset. We reproduce Sweetgreen's figures exactly as published rather than silently adjusting them to make the arithmetic look tidier — a corrected number would be our number, not Sweetgreen's, and you would have no way to check it.

The pick limits here are real

This builder enforces exactly the limits Sweetgreen's own ordering system enforces: one or two bases, up to ten toppings, up to seven premiums, up to three dressings — and never a double portion of the same dressing, which the system blocks outright. Bread is capped at one.

On the CAVA page we impose no limits at all, because CAVA's nutrition document contains no selection rules of any kind and inventing them would be presenting our guess as their policy. Same tool, different rules, because the sources differ — and that is stated rather than smoothed over.

FAQ

How many calories are in a Sweetgreen bowl?

It depends on the build. A greens base is 30 to 70 cal, roasted chicken adds 110, avocado 160, and dressings run from 15 cal for balsamic vinegar to 210 for balsamic vinaigrette — the dressing is often the single biggest line in a salad. Sweetgreen’s own published totals for finished bowls range from about 510 cal for a Kale Caesar to 845 for Hot Honey Chicken.

Does Sweetgreen publish serving sizes?

Yes, and it is the only one of the big three fast-casual chains that does it completely. Every build-your-own ingredient in Sweetgreen’s ordering system carries a gram weight — all 73 of them, from 1 g of crushed red pepper to 140 g of chopped romaine. CAVA publishes none at all, and Chipotle publishes ounces rather than grams. That is why this page can show you what a portion actually weighs.

Why do the ingredient calories not add up to Sweetgreen’s bowl totals?

Because Sweetgreen rounds each ingredient independently, and some rounded values do not agree with their own macros. Organic Spring Mix is published at 30 cal with 0 g protein, 0 g carbs and 0 g fat; Pesto Vinaigrette at 110 cal where 9 g of fat alone implies about 81. Summing rounded parts drifts from a rounded whole. We show the drift instead of hiding it — the numbers here are exactly what Sweetgreen publishes.

How much sodium is in a Sweetgreen bowl?

More than most people expect from a salad. Golden Quinoa carries 370 mg, blackened chicken 410 mg, and dressings run 270 to 430 mg. The FDA Daily Value is 2,300 mg per day, so a quinoa bowl with chicken and a ranch-style dressing can clear 1,200 mg before toppings. This calculator totals sodium as you build and shows it against that limit.
